Building the Walnut Side Table (Placeholder)
Placeholder post. A step-by-step build log showing how a write-up will look, linked to its project.
Placeholder project. A small walnut side table with through-tenons and an oil finish, standing in until real builds are added.

This is placeholder content. It exists to show the layout and will be deleted once real projects are added.
A compact side table sized for a reading chair: 20 inches tall, with a lower shelf for books. Walnut because there was an offcut pile asking to be used.
The legs are joined to the aprons with through-tenons, wedged from the top. The top is a three-board glue-up, flattened by hand and attached with figure-8 fasteners to allow for seasonal movement.
Cut the tenon shoulders with a guide block rather than freehand. The first two needed paring to close up.
